Gasherbrum I, Pakistan – July 18th, approx. 05:10AM – Mountaineer Kristin Harila and Tenjin (Lama Sherpa) have accomplished yet another feat in their journey towards summitting all of the world’s highest peaks. Today, Kristin successfully reached the summit of Gasherbrum I without the use of supplementary oxygen, further solidifying her position as one of the most accomplished female climbers of our time.
Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak, stands at an awe-inspiring altitude of 8,080 meters (26,510 feet) in the Karakoram Range of the Himalayas. Like many of the other 8000m mountains, Gasherbrum I poses a formidable challenge. Kristin’s determination, skill, and unwavering spirit have propelled her to summit this formidable peak alongside her wonderful team.
With the successful ascent of Gasherbrum I, Kristin has now conquered the 12th peak in her quest to summit all 14 of the world’s highest mountains. Her remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to pushing the limits of human potential have captivated the attention and admiration of mountaineering enthusiasts worldwide.
