Kristin Harila Summits Broad Peak, Nearing Mountaineering Milestone

Broad Peak, Pakistan – July 23^rd, approx. 04:30AM – Mountaineer Kristin Harila and Tenjin (Lama Sherpa) achieved yet another remarkable feat by summiting Broad Peak, the 12th highest mountain in the world and one of the 8000m mountains. This achievement marks their successful ascent of the second-to-last mountain on their daring quest to summit all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. Their extraordinary dedication, perseverance, and mountaineering prowess have brought them one step closer to making history.

Broad Peak, standing at an imposing height of 8,051 meters, is a challenge considering the summits of two mountains (Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II) within the past week. Despite this, Kristin and her exceptional team demonstrated unparalleled courage and determination, showcasing their ability to thrive in the most demanding environments.

Throughout her journey, Kristin has been on a mission to create a new world record for the fastest ascent of all 14 peaks. Her relentless pursuit of this record not only speaks to her tenacity as an athlete but also her passion for pushing boundaries and inspiring others to pursue their dreams. With this mountain now behind her, the final peak and the end of the journey come into view.
